This image was taken just outside of Juneau, Alaska, from a whale watching boat. I saw a ship towing a small skiff behind it and realized that it would soon cross paths with a navigational buoy. To my delight, four sea lions took that time to begin fighting for a prime sunning spot. I waited for the right moment and just as we passed the buoy I shot off three photos. That is all the time I had before the composition of the image I had envisioned was gone forever. This was the only good shot of the three and I am very happy it turned out!
