Rocky Mountain High
A magnificent view of the Rocky Mountains from the Alpine Visitor's Center which is perched on a rocky ledge more than two miles above sea level. This location is off limits for seven months out of the year due to snow depths that can be up to twenty-five feet deep. This doesn't seem to deter the summer grazing of big horned sheep and elk, however. Though you can't see it from the small image on your screen, the full sized version of the image shows both kinds of animals in the center right portion. Finding them will truly give you a sense of scale! This is a place worth stopping to see if you are ever in the area during the warmer months!
