Bridge to Oblivion

Bridge to Oblivion

I was out hiking with my wife recently when we came across an interesting site. This is the remains of an old railroad bridge in Weldon Springs, MO. It is located right next to the infamously radioactive Hamburg Quarry used to obtain limestone for the construction of the buildings for the Weldon Springs Munitions Plant. Later the quarry was used for dumping of thousands of barrels of nuclear and chemical wastes left over from munitions productions before and after WW2. I found the place interesting and creepy at the same time. Hopefully, I won't start glowing at night... I like the image. It looks like the world after the apocalypse in a state of nuclear winter with a bright green toxic looking river and the dying sun beyond the dead tree branches. I was rather pleased with the effect and the story. This image was a panorama taken with my Samsung S8+ phone and processed in Lightroom.
